Every time I scroll through Facebook or Instagram, I’m reminded how loud the world has become. Opinions flying like arrows. People slamming each other day after day. Outrage packaged as entertainment. Comparison disguised as connection. It’s a constant hum — sometimes a roar — that tries to shape how we think, how we feel, and even who we are.

And if we’re not careful, that noise becomes the soundtrack of our lives.

But here’s the truth I’m learning: you cannot hear the voice of God if you’re tuned in to the chaos of everyone else. The world shouts. God whispers. And whispers require stillness.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

The Outside World Makes Demands. God Doesn’t.

The voices online come with ultimatums:
• “Agree with me or you’re wrong.”
• “Look like this or you’re not enough.”
• “Think like this or you’re outdated.”
• “Live like this or you’re missing out.”

But the voice of God — the one voice that has never lied, never manipulated, never changed — speaks a different language. It’s steady. It’s proven. It’s been faithful for centuries.

He doesn’t demand you fit in.
He invites you to come close.
He doesn’t pressure you to perform.
He reminds you who you already are.
He doesn’t shout over the noise.
He waits for you to step away from it.

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” — John 10:27

So how do we quiet the noise?
Not by escaping the world — but by choosing what gets our attention.
• Turn down the volume on the endless scroll.
• Turn your face toward the One who has never changed His tone.
• Let Scripture become the voice you hear most clearly.
• Let prayer become the place where your soul exhales.

Because when you quiet the world, even for a moment, you begin to hear the voice that actually matters — the voice that speaks truth, peace, direction, and identity.

The world’s noise is temporary. God’s voice is eternal.

Social media trends will fade. Opinions will shift. Outrage will burn out. But the voice of God — the One who spoke creation into being — is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

And when you tune your heart to Him, the noise of the world loses its power.
Not because it disappears…
but because it no longer defines you.
