It’s been an interesting couple of days. I haven’t been completely down, but I have definitely been hit with a few attacks from the enemy. You know how it goes — life is moving along, things feel steady, maybe even like “smooth sailing”… and that’s usually when Satan decides to slip in and try to get your attention.
I won’t go into all the details of what I’ve been walking through, but I knew immediately it wasn’t random. It was spiritual. It was targeted. And it was real.
Scripture reminds us plainly:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” Ephesians 6:12
Once again, I was reminded that we live in a constant spiritual battle — not out there somewhere, but right inside our own hearts and minds.
So I did what I know to do: I stayed aligned with God’s Word as best I could, held onto His truth, and reached out to a few close friends. I didn’t explain the situation. I simply said, “I know I’m under spiritual attack, and I need your prayers.”
Then, one afternoon, I was sitting on the couch listening to Christian music. Nothing dramatic. Nothing emotional. Just a quiet moment. And suddenly — this wave of peace washed over me.
It wasn’t subtle. It wasn’t imagined. It was the Holy Spirit, calming my spirit and whispering, “You made it through this attack.”
In that instant, I knew exactly why.
It was the prayers.
The ones I asked for.
The ones my friends faithfully lifted up.
The ones God heard and responded to.
Once again, He showed His glory.
Once again, He reminded me how powerful prayer truly is.
Jesus Himself prayed for His disciples — for their protection, their unity, their strength, their faith. In John 17, He even prayed for us, the believers who would come later. Prayer was His pattern, His weapon, His expression of love.
And the early church followed that same pattern. They prayed constantly for one another’s courage, endurance, and protection.
We’re called to do the same.
Because prayer doesn’t just comfort us.
Prayer pushes back darkness.
Prayer deflects the enemy’s lies.
Prayer strengthens the weary.
Prayer shifts atmospheres.
Prayer wins battles we never see.
We never look forward to spiritual attacks. They’re draining, discouraging, and sometimes confusing. But it is deeply reassuring to know we don’t face them alone.
God places people in our lives who will stand in prayer with us — people who will lift our arms when we’re tired, speak truth when lies get loud, and call heaven down when we feel weak.
And I’m grateful.
So grateful.
This week reminded me again:
Prayer is powerful.
Community is essential.
And Satan is already defeated.
So keep standing firm.
Keep praying for one another.
And keep remembering that every attack is just another opportunity for God to show His strength in your story.
Father, thank You for being near in every battle — seen and unseen.
Thank You for the gentle ways You steady our hearts when the enemy tries to shake us.
Lord, we acknowledge that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces that seek to distract, discourage, and divide. Yet we stand firm today because You are our defender, our peace, and our covering.
Thank You for the people You place around us — friends who pray, who lift us up, who stand in the gap when we feel weak. Bless them, strengthen them, and remind us to be that same kind of support for others.
Teach us to recognize Your voice above every lie.
Teach us to run to You first.
Teach us to pray boldly for one another, knowing that heaven moves when Your people intercede.
And Lord, when the next attack comes — because we know it will — let us remember this moment of peace, this victory, this reminder that You are faithful and the enemy is already defeated.
Keep us aligned with Your truth, anchored in Your presence, and confident in Your power.
In Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen.
